The Dressed Down GUN Belt - The Story

A gun belt designed to be worn when you are wearing little else!

Don't unnecessarily increase the risk of being shot by the Police or going to jail on a firearms charge simply because you were under dressed.

This belt is designed to be fast and easy to put on if you find yourself needing to go outside your house with your handgun to investigate a disturbance. A holstered handgun is far less likely to result in severe bodily harm or criminal charges being brought against you for something like brandishing a firearm, than a gun in your hand.

Here is an example for your consideration:

It is night-time. You are relaxing in your home, settled in for the night. Like a majority of people, your dress is likely minimal and consisting of light, soft, comfortable clothes which are totally inadequate for the safe retention of a handgun.

Let's say you have a son or daughter that is due home around 12:30am. Around that time you hear a heated argument occurring on the street in front of your house. You want to quickly investigate because you have a reasonable concern for the well-being of your loved one. You are not entirely sure that a firearm is necessary, but being prudent, you decide to take your handgun just to be sure you would be able to defend your loved one if it were necessary. As you are approaching the disturbance you are looking and listening and your initial assessment is that a firearm is not necessary but some level of intervention by you is. You are now holding your gun while you attempt to intervene and diffuse the situation verbally or potentially even physically. Meanwhile the Police are already on their way because you asked someone to call them before you exited your home, a neighbor heard or saw the disturbance and called, or maybe one of the parties involved in the disturbance had already called. Worst case, the neighbor called who saw you and your gun and told the Police that you had a gun in your hand.

For any of a number of reasons that may exist, you are unable or unwilling to return to your home to put the gun away because there is still a concern for the well being of your loved one.

Now the Police arrive and you are holding a gun in your hand. Even if you are holding the gun in the most non-threatening manner you can, this has the possibility of not going well for you.

Firstly, until you are disarmed by the Police, your chance of being shot by the Police due to a misunderstanding are extremely elevated. Secondly, the Police saw you holding a gun so the state can now bring charges against you if the officer is so inclined, entirely seperate from the disturbance. Third, you will likely have at least one party to the disturbance who is angry and can easily advance accusations that you were threatening them with the gun, just to punish you and it will be difficult to argue against those accusations because the Police saw you holding the gun.

If you had been able to holster the gun as soon as you determined it was not necessary and even rotate the belt a little so the gun was behind you and out of sight of the other parties in an effort to avoid escalating the emotional state of the other parties merely by the obvious presence of a gun, you would be in a much better position. DON'T MISUNDERSTAND, this may not save you from any complications related to a gun being present, but it certainly could have helped avoid the most dangerous and serious circumstances caused by holding the gun, and it demonstrates a level of responsibility on your part that could go a long way towards taking the focus off of you.

Good common sense thinking should already tell you that holding a gun when you are not facing the threat of severe bodily harm or death is a horrible idea. But unfortunately, circumstances can occur and ones ability to think clearly about what they are doing, particularly if you feel like it is not an issue because you know your intentions, can diminish under pressure. So the more preparation you can do before an incident, the less likely you will be to find yourself in a situation that you unintentionally make worse.

This belt made ready and immediately available can help make you a better steward of your handgun and potentially greatly reduce serious dangers that can arise. This belt also affords you the ability to have, for example, pepper spray and a flashlight with you and easily ready. This BELT is made by us here in the USA using heavy weight, 2” nylon webbing and is adjustable to fit waist sizes from 32” to 47” (Large available for 40”-53” waist sizes). It is also made with Mil-Spec Heavy Duty Velcro and has a Heavy Weight D-Ring for easy hanging by your door. We chose to construct the belt from 2” webbing because it offers the best ease of use and desired performance characteristics as well as the 2” webbing is slightly larger than the slot channels of most holsters, so when the belt is forced through the slots of a holster or forced into the channel of a molded holster it produces friction of binding which keeps an empty holster from changing position on the belt during handling while putting it on.

It has a large, easy-to-align, self locking clip so it can be put on quickly and easily without looking at it. Even in the unlikely event the belt is twisted while putting it on in a hurry, the closure will still go together easily and lock securely.
