3/8” MWC Water Dispensing Siphon Kit
The siphon used in this kit is the Original Safety Siphon. This is the original siphon brought to the market in the early 70’s, and the one I have been using for over 20 years. It has been copied in every way conceivable, including using the exact name on the copied product, but I believe in supporting a product that has served me flawlessly for such a long time.
This particular kit includes the plunge style siphon connected to 6’ of 3/8” ID Hose. I have modified the hose with support tubing in the area where the hose passes through the pour hole in the cap, to prevent the hose from kinking as a result of staying in place for longer periods of time when set up as a dispenser. The support tubing also helps prevent the hose from falling or accidentally pulled out of the water while in use.
The user can cut the hose to any desired length and can attach hose to the dispensing end of the valve to make it easier to fill smaller containers.
One thing to keep in mind is the longer the hose is, the further it can hang below the bottom of the water can. The further it is below the bottom of the can, the higher the flow rate will be as the water level drops in the can.
There are TWO versions of the 3/8” Siphon Kit available:
Regular Kit: Siphon, 6’ Hose, Support Tube and Valve.
Deluxe Kit: Siphon, 6’ Hose, Support Tube, Valve and Modified Scepter/Lci Pour-Hole Cap
How to use the plunge style siphon:
Regular and Deluxe Kit: Open the Valve. Plunge the siphon end, vertically, into the liquid to be transferred, several times in rapid succession until siphon flow is established. Close the valve and the unit is ready to go. Simply open the valve to fill containers and close to stop. You do not need to re-establish the flow each time.
Without valve: Plunge the siphon end, vertically, into the liquid to be transferred, several times in rapid succession until siphon flow is established. Fill container and remove siphon from liquid to stop flow.
The unit is suitable for nearly all liquids and will not contaminate drinking water. If you should use the unit for a chemical, do not return it to use for drinking water.
